TennesseeAnytime Offers Online Child Support Payment History

NASHVILLE - (March 27, 2002) - The outlook has improved for the thousands of custodial parents in Tennessee who rely on child support to help raise their families. The Tennessee Department of Human Services (DHS), NIC and Accenture just launched a child support payment history website that will provide collection and disbursement information to both custodial and noncustodial parents.

Mandated by the legislature, the child support payment history provides custodial and noncustodial parents with information on noncustodial child support payments and disbursement of payments to custodial parents. Once the parent logs in using their social security number and member or case number, the parent can view the current payment status or previous history on their case back to 1995. Parents can verify this information 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year at www.TennesseeAnytime.org.

"This new online service expands the opportunity for parents to take control of their child support payment status 24 hours a day, 7 days a week without having to rely on Department personnel," said Department of Human Services (DHS) Commissioner Natasha Metcalf. "That's good for the children, it's good for the parents, and it's certainly good for Tennessee."

For the children's and custodial parent's protection, the website provides only the noncustodial parent's name and identification number and does not reveal the children's name or the custodial parent's information.

Acceptance and use of the application has been outstanding. In the first two months, over 22,000 parents have logged in and checked on their accounts. In addition, feedback for the new service has been very positive, as reflected in an email from one parent who used the online service: "I have learned the more detail I know about my case the better understanding I have of it. This is a great idea that was a long time coming - keep up the good work!"
