Fun Recipes for Kids
Kids must cook with parents!
Go Bananas Orange Dip - 2 large bananas, 1/2 c. non-fat yogurt (plain, banana, or vanilla-flavored), 2 oranges peeled and sectioned. Place banana chunks into blender. Add yogurt. Blend on low for 30 seconds or until smooth and thoroughly mixed. Place mixture in serving bowl and use for dipping orange sections! From the Lawrence County Nutrition Education Center.
Baked Tortilla Chips - 3 corn or flour tortillas, salsa or bean dip. Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees. Cut each tortilla into 8 triangular wedges using pizza cutter or kitchen scissors. Place tortilla wedges on baking sheet. Bake in oven for 5-9 minutes until wedges become brown and crisp. Serve with salsa or dip!
Pizza Cups - 1 lb. lean ground beef, 1 6oz. can tomato paste, 1 tbsp. dried minced onion, 1 tsp. Italian seasoning, 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough. Brown ground beef and minced onion, drain. Add tomato paste and seasoning. Simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Separate biscuit dough into halves and press halves into muffin pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until golden brown! From the Jackson-Madison County Nutrition Education Center.
