TeleHealth
- One of the most persistent health care challenges in rural
Tennessee is the lack of specialists in most rural areas.
Tennessee TeleHealth Network (TTN)
The Council made a $1.6 million state-funded grant to the Community Health Network (CHN) to create the Tennessee TeleHealth Network (TTN) which will connect specialists in urban areas with community health centers serving disadvantaged or isolated populations throughout the state. By the end of calendar 2007 CHN will equip and connect up to 45 Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Mental Health Agencies (CMHAs) for TeleHealth. The clinics will be connected through TNII and equipped with specialized medical equipment related to video conferencing and the remote administration of medicine. CHN will provide ongoing technical assistance and system maintenance. - Presentations 2-28-08 GOCCC Steering Panel
