Marlin Clifford Chapman, Nissan North America, Director of Human Resources, Compensation and Benefits
Marlin Chapman is director of Human Resources for Nissan North America, Inc. Chapman joined Nissan in 1989 as a vehicle remarketing coordinator with Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation, which provides financing and leasing services for Nissan products. He joined Nissan Smyrna's management team in 1994 as section manager of the plant's lease vehicle administration group and was promoted to department manager in Human Resources in 1998. He was promoted to his current role as Director of Human Resources at Nissan's Smyrna and Decherd manufacturing facilities in May 2000 where he is responsible for compensation and benefits, vehicle administration, safety and medical, and human resources information systems. Prior to joining Nissan, Chapman worked for Ford Credit and for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Chapman is a commissioner with the Tennessee Motor Vehicle Commission. He is a board member of the HC21 Health Care Coalition.
